General English Courses

General English courses have been designed to enable students to learn to speak, understand, read and write English in a variety of communicative situations.

General English courses aim to improve students’ skills in all areas of the English language and the courses cover all main aspects of the language which are, reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as grammar, although most General English courses focus more on improving speaking and listening.

General English Courses Are Very Flexible

Prior to commencing the General English course students are assessed to see what level would suit them best.

General English courses are very flexible and you can choose your mode of study:
• Standard (usually around 20 lessons, 15 hours a week) these courses are usually the basic core programs offered. They will cover all the four main language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking with emphasis on grammatical structures.
• Intensive (around 25 lessons, 20 hours a week): these courses are designed for motivated students who need to improve their English language skills for general use
• Combination course: these courses offer an excellent opportunity to combine general English with the additional personal one to one tuition that cater to the needs and requirements of the student. Some of the options are IELTS, business and communications courses that can be taken alongside the your general English course
• IELTS: one of the most popular English proficiency tests which is accepted by all UK universities as a proof of your level of English. You will therefore receive a thorough grounding in the demands and particular strategies of the examination. The course can be tailored to meet specific needs such as academic writing, note taking, reading, etc.
• Business: this is for who either have or want to pursue a career in business. These courses include telephone work, teamwork and presentation, negotiation skills, current affairs and commercial correspondence .the intention of this course is to give you’re a better understanding of any business situation and raise your level of confidence in dealing with such situations. You will also get to study actual business sources such as the Economist and the Financial Times which will enable you to talk about current issues in the business world
• Communication: this will give you the opportunity to work with the language you have been learning on your standard course the emphasis is on skills, specially speaking which will be carried out through debates, projects and team tasks. You will use newspapers, customs, history and art to learn more about the English culture
• Full Immersion: these programs are designed to help students who are only able to study for a short period of time and who want to maximize their exposure to the language. These courses are ideal for those who want to mainly focus on one certain skill.
• Private lessons: taking private lessons allows students to benefit from flexible English tuition tailored to their individual requirements
• Extra conversation courses: these courses enable to communicate effectively and more fluently in everyday English
